Tree SwirlsA preview of the tree ornament I made, I haven’t had time to finish editing the rest of the pictures yet, but it’s not too bad.

One down… lots to go.

one-down-lots-to-go

I need to find my camera cord before I can show you, but I finished my first ornament of the year, it’s a mini-wreath made out of leather, hemp cord, wooden beads and a few bells. My aunt said it’s nice, so did Mum, but lets be honest. Family is biased, so I’ll let you see tomorrow. :D

If I find my god damned cord.

I’m also making a few of these. They’re very easy felt baubles that look a bit like those paper pompom things, I think they’re called? Only I managed to sew the seam wrong.    It’s a little crooked, so it won’t be perfect, but it’s only for me so it doesn’t matter so much.

Stash Saturday

Stash photos I promises, and here they are! It’s not all my crafting supplies I doubt I could find it all and show you, but these are lovely examples of my obsession. Beware the Picspam. Click o thumbnails for bigger images.

This is one of my baskets. Ooh, the pretty colours within – I wonder what they are?!

My room is a black hole…

and it ate my freakin’ backpack for Echo! I’m going to have tyo make another one half way through which the black hole will probably mysteriously cough up the original and I’ll bemoan it on here. XD

Tomorrow I’m hopefully going to have some pretty/interesting pictures of my bead/craft supplies, some of them at least to give you some eyecandy and give me something to do before my sister’s friend comes over for a sleepover…HELP!

15 days, 15 posts. So good so far.

W00t! For once I feel like I can actually reach a goal, it’s a nice feeling.

Owlish Intentions

owlish-intentions

So while I probably should be working on the special post Alex and I are working on, or rewriting/continuing any one of my current W.I.P.’s. Perhaps cleaning my room, playing with the cats…

Basically while I shouldn’t be procrastinating…

I want to show you Blind Bertha.

Bertha

Click to make it bigger.

Bertha is a little plainer than I’d like, and not at all perfect… but I’ll admit, I did her in a rush. She’s probably only five or six centimetres tall and very purple and pink. The beak was actually a more royal purple, but the lighting was crap and I couldn’t be bothered editing it in photoshop (I used Picnik). The reason I made Bertha was for my Aunty Bec who recently had her birthday and  I wanted to give her something….

Okay.

Also because I have this obsession with owls. I blame J.K. Rowling. :read:

Anyway, I called her Blind Bertha because those seed bead eyes I made her are quite light against the white fabric in real life and my bead box is a mess. Someone come an organize my sewing stuff for me, please? I drew the “pattern” myself, mostly as I went along though I think I might have to make a few modifications. And fix/ be rid of that fugly tail.

I wish she had come out as good as Alice’s owls. P.S. She’s all hand sewn, and took inordinate amounts of time. That is all.
