a-storm-and-an-almost-project

It’s been crappy weather all around today, so I was going to do some sewing with my machine, but it still hates me. I was going to make a poppet, this doll by Ghilie of Craftster. I’ve had the pattern for about a year and a half, but I couldn’t find any material that was appropriate… but I realised I had some in my stash this morning so when the weather began to go south I decided to try it.

Sewing machine didn’t want to cooperate, though. So it’s a no go for now until I get another machine or feel up to handsewing it. :/ But, aren’t the poppets precious?

I have an Owl Problem. Heh.

And a general crafting obsession problem, but that’s a whole textbook.

I do blame Harry Potter for this, and possibly Winnie The Pooh… and the internet, where all good obsessions are born and encouraged.

Now that we’ve made my generally obsessive nature clear, nobody should be surprised that I made Owl Marbles last night. They’re those flat bottomed type I think most people put in vases unadulterated. Wouldn’t do for someone like me and I don’t really believe in keeping vases of flowers around anyway – they live longer on the plant.

Three different kinds of owls in the front row, all drawn by me. The back row has one lot of flowers and a butterfly (on the same one) that I drew and three other flowers I cut from a spare page or two in my memo pads.

Better picture minus the sideways distortion. The marbles act as a magnifier to the pictures glued underneath nearly doubling them in size. I kind of wish the marbles were a bit bigger, it’s awkward drawing designs smaller than a five cent piece.

The ToMU one on the bottom row is more purple than blue in real life, Purple and Green are the colours of Magisterius University where the story is set. Or I’m pretty sure they are. Erm. For those of you not up on the webfiction stories, it’s a High Fantasy University story of which I’ve read 380 Chapters plus various and sundry other bits and bobs.

And yes, that’s a dragon head above the lady beetle. I freehanded that in sharpie, of all things.

Now to go draw more owls. (And incase you didn’t notice, the first two pictures are on the design of an owl plushie I’m working on. Heh)

A little bit of this, a little of that…

a-little-bit-of-this-a-little-of-that

Okay, so. No Merlin because… well because I found myself ranting about Gwen because I can’t make sense of the woman even though she is buckets of awesome… (on the BBC’s Merlin. Other Gwens make me go all Smashdown on their faces…)

And I’m pretty sure Merlin is supposed to be older.

I did find some amazing fanfiction though, ala “A Slow Awakening (Morgana/Arthur)” by . (NC-17, NSFW).

Sin Alone (Morgana/Arthur)” by . (NC-17, NSFW).

The Brush of Wildfire” by . (NC-17, NSFW).

You can thank me later ;D

Echo and I went on a walk with Nicole today, we took plenty of pics which I’ll probably edit and post up tomorrow. It was fun, I’m working on a design for Echo’s own little backpack, too. Maybe a felt hat…

Mother does many a strange thing, I have been here only four days and I know this. Still, it’s better than some toddler having me and smushing chocolate ice cream into my lovely fur.

Er, well I think it is. Though the jumper and “hair accessory” she has been making me wear makes me wonder.

Nonetheless, she has some something I think is fun. She’s given me my own Flickr Page! I mean, a bear with their own flickr, who would have known? And it turns out I’m not the only one who has one, either! I found a few other bears on there. I do hope they reply to my comments or my photos.

Mother also says I’m allowed to write on here sometimes as having my own blog would be too much trouble for her. I do believe she’s being a bit silly, just because she’s typing while I dictate too her…

Anyway, come check out my flickr and feel free to drop a comment or two!

Harry Potter Crochet!

harry-potter-crochet

Same yada ya from the previous crochet post, read the books, love these ones, understand it takes patience and hard work to crochet and the ones I point out that I don’t like aren’t here to offend the makers, just to show a variety of stuff I’ve found on flickr! I’m leaving scarves out unless they’re exceptional, for obvious reasons.

A bit close to scarves, but still a lovely way to show Gryffindor Pride are these adorable little pretties and knick knacks that I would wear despite my hatred of maroon.

Stitch wise this is awesome, and scary because of the colours at the same time but considering that it is a replica of something Mollywobbles wears, I’m not entirely surprised.
